The quest for knowledge
It would be too easy to say that Pep Carrió constructs images with other people’s objects, that he also constructs objects with other people’s images, too easy to say that and leave it at that, at the surface.
Pep Carrió constructs with the fog that takes hold of us all some days, many days, every day, with that suffocating thickness that condenses sadness, fear, the misery of human beings, and that we can never grasp.
Pep Carrió turns memory into matter, turning what was once a tragic state of the soul into an object. In doing so, he seeks to discover the demon, to reveal it, and to grab it by the legs; it is nothing more than the thirst for knowledge, the invention of memory.
