Selection of poems by Federico García Lorca illustrated by Pep Carrió
Lorca, nature poems, gathers in an exquisitely crafted edition a selection of poems where Federico García Lorca establishes nature as a fundamental element. Creating images for the beauty and depth of Lorca’s texts has been one of my greatest challenges and a true gift. During the summer of 2024 in the workshop in Asturias, surrounded by mountains and a plant world, the images that accompany the poems emerged. Created on Lokta paper with inks and bleach, I wanted the illustrations to flow as the poems do, for the outlines to blur, and for chance when intervening on the paper to be part of the work. Blue, roots, sprouts, flowers, bodies, heads, water, sky, stars are the elements with which I have created these images.
